Indian Arm Sub-area

Indian Arm

The Indian Arm area is very large and really only accessible by boat or float plane. It is sparsely populated – mostly cottages. Some permanent residents do live there, mostly in on the southwest  of Indian Arm at Woodlands, which is accessed by a narrow road continuing from Indian River Road (in the Indian River area).

The Wigwam Inn

The Wigwam Inn, at the north end of the inlet,  has been there since the turn of the century. A fishing lodge imbedded in the history of the North Shore, it still exists today, carrying on as before.

The Wigwam Inn in 1913 was accessed by daily ferry service.

A modern home in Woodlands (see map above). This area is undergoing some changes as the access to it has markedly improved with the repaving of Indian River Road.

A home in Woodlands undergoing renovation and expansion. Breathtaking views of the entrance of Indian Arm are a hallmark of Woodlands.
