  • Lower Lonsdale is part of the original North Vancouver town site, bordered on the north by Keith Road and on the south by the waters of the Burrard Inlet. It is the only part of North Vancouver that has very easy access to Downtown because of the Seabus (ferries that go back and forth between the heart of Downtown and North Vancouver all day).

  • While a few “character” homes remain, the vast majority have been replaced by apartments and townhouse developments. Some of the newer construction offers fantastic views of  Burrard Inlet and Downtown Vancouver.

  • Lower Lonsdale now consists mainly of multi-family or commercial/retail properties. It is full of apartments and thus houses many of the young people of the City of North Vancouver. Its real estate offers both some of the most reasonable prices on the North Shore and some of the most expensive, particularly for new apartments.
  • Lower Lonsdale is undergoing a strong re-development phase, with an emphasis on a more urban setting than it had originally. This will include a hotel, multiple residential buildings, a museum and more public access to the waterfront. It’s “crown jewel” is currently the Lonsdale Quay area, with it’s fresh food market and the nearby Waterfront Park.
  • Much of the old shipyards buildings (shown below) are now gone, soon to be replaced by the Shipyards or the Pier, a new collections of buildings with different offerings ranging from, as mentioned above, a museum to residential apartments.
  • General Price Range in Lower Lonsdale: from $150,000 to $1,500,000
