- Nestled
at the foot of the Grouse Mountain Skyride, Grouse Woods
is an area of youngish (20 something) houses, townhomes and zero-lotline
homes. At times, it feels and looks just like a ski resort.
- Flanked
on the west by Capilano Lake, it exists in a modern village
atmosphere, seemingly plopped in the middle of wilderness and yet
minutes from downtown Vancouver. Nancy Green (a local skiier
who won Olympic gold) Way is the only access into Grouse Woods.
It is an area surrounded by the natural beauty of British Columbia.
- Grouse
Woods is a smallish, newer enclave on the lower slopes of Grouse Mountain.
All the homes here are around 20 years old or so. Most are built in
the 'West Coast' style. The emphasis in Grouse Woods is on the building,
not the land, because the lots are all fairly small.

For residents of Grouse Woods, everything is
“down”, unless they are off for a day or evening of skiing. Which,
by the way, is just a hop and a skip away.
The
main artery of the area is Nancy Green Way which connects
to Capilano Road some way down the hill - right where
Cleveland Dam is located.
Once
on Capilano Road, everything is close by. Edgemont village:
turn left at Edgemont Boulevard. Keep going south on
Capilano Road, and you connect to the Upper Levels Highway
(Trans-Canada Highway 1). From there, you are five minutes from the
Park Royal Shopping Centre in the west, or Westview Shopping
Centre in the east. Stay on Capilano Road and you quickly reach
Marine Drive, west takes you to the Lions
Gate Bridge and on to Vancouver.
