- Dollarton
is a pretty area at the east-most point of the North Shore. Bordered
on two sides by water, its east is bathed by the waters of Indian
Arm, while its south is fronted by Burrard Inlet.
- Dollarton
takes its name from Robert Dollar, who bought 100 acres and
built a mill there in 1916. The townsite that developed around the
mill soon became known as Dollarton.
- Many
lots offer views of the Burrard Inlet and the north shore of Burnaby
and the west edge of Ioco. It is also one of the few areas in North
Vancouver where it is still possible to acquire 100 foot frontage
lots at a fairly “reasonable price”.
- Dollarton
is a quiet area providing many quiet streets, cul de sacs and shady
side streets. It consists mostly of single family homes but does offer
one townhome complex, backing onto a golf course. Some waterfront
properties, rarely for sale, offer private moorage.
- Dollarton
also hosts Seymour Golf & Country Club, a public golf course,
and Cates Park, which offers numerous activities, particularly in
the summer.
-
One elementary school is located within the Dollarton area and a high
school is nearby in Deep Cove.
- Price
Range: from $360,000 to $2,700,000

Shopping:
5
minutes away:
For simple shopping pleasure, Deep Cove's Gallant
Avenue is ideal. For more traditional shopping, the area is
served by two shopping centres. Dollar Shopping Centre provides
a Food Store and a liquor store along with many small shops and a
bank. Located by the side of Dollarton Highway, it is
a short drive from Deep Cove.
Heading west up the Mount Seymour Parkway from Dollarton Highway,
you quickly come to the Parkgate Village Shopping Centre which
offers a large food store (Safeway), and a number of small
stores and services.
North
Vancouver District has a very attractive, relatively new, branch library
and Recreation Centre, just north of the Parkgate Mall.
