  • The Delbrook area is so named because of the  avenue that runs through it. Situated on a south facing hillside, development started in the 1950's and carried on through the 60's. It is now a well established section of North Vancouver, with the gardens to prove it.

  •
  • Many homes in the Delbrook area are “Post and Beam” homes. For those unfamiliar with the design, post and beams are built to show off the support beams of the roof, giving height to the rooms. The roof itself is often tar and gravel, with a gentle slope from its apex. Most post and beams give a house a feeling of space and volume. A large number of lots offer some views of the Burrard Inlet and of downtown Vancouver.

  •
  • One elementary school and one Junior High School (Balmoral) are located nearby.

  •
  • Delbrook is a quiet and family oriented area, where the spacious lots provide a lot of room for families. Unusual for the North Shore, Delbrook Plaza offers a mix of commercial and residential (apartments) space.

  •

Shopping:
    5 minutes away:
A walk takes you to Delbrook Plaza, a shopping complex with a coffee shop, restaurant and some services. Near Upper Levels highway, Delbrook Avenue changes to become Westview Drive. Westview Shopping Centre is located at the junction of the Upper Levels Highway (Trans-Canada Highway 1) and Westview Drive. At the intersection of Delbrook Avenue and Queens Road, you are presented with a choice: east on Queens takes you to Lonsdale Avenue, west on Queens takes you to Capilano Highlands and Edgemont Village, a pleasant area known for its cafés, restaurants and shops.

Recreation comes in the form of the large Delbrook Community Centre, the proximity of Grouse Mountain Ski Resort, and an unbeatable central location for the entire North Shore.
