- Braemar
is a newish
subdivision. The ground was first broken in the mid 1990s. Braemar
was designed to be an area of luxurious homes with views to the east
and southeast. Steep, mountainside-type lots and broad roads are a
hallmark.
- Property
values are high in Braemar as a result of the large (3500 - 5000 sf),
modern homes, often architect designed, which inhabit the mountainside.
Many lots appear small in relation to the houses built on them. On
the other hand, a few of these homes sit on half acre properties.
- There
are no schools within Braemar per say. A high school lies east in
nearby Lynn Valley, and another further and to the west, is located
in Upper Lonsdale. Elementary schools are available in Lynn Valley
and to the west and south in Upper Lonsdale.
- The
Braemar area is still under development. New homes are being built,
and some lots are still available for sale, mostly from the District
and only when they are prepared to sell some land. The wilderness
is mere steps away.
- Price
Range: from $600,000 to $1,200,000
